On Wednesday 25th September, construction of the first stage of homes at Thyme Lifestyle Resort Canungra officially kicked off on its new $75 million-dollar development project. This milestone marked the beginning of a new era of over 50’s living in the Scenic Rim.
Dean Walker, Head of Development for Serenitas, members of the broader operational team and a handful of early deposit holders were present to usher in the commencement of the first stage of new homes. The community has approved plans for 167 homes and is set to provide a significant boost to regional jobs.
Thyme Lifestyle Resort Canungra will be a boutique over-50s lifestyle community where nature and vibrant living converge. Nestled in the foothills of the heritage-listed Lamington National Park, this picturesque community serves as a key service centre for the Scenic Rim and importantly, locals to the area. It features a vibrant café culture, essential amenities, and friendly country hospitality.
“We are excited to be bringing our leading Thyme Lifestyle Resort brand to such an incredible location like Canungra. Our plans for this master planned community have been tailored to complement the unique characteristics of the local area whilst also offering people over 50 who are seeking to downsize the opportunity to stay in the region,” said Dean Walker, Head of Development for Serenitas.
“Our range of architecturally designed homes have been thoughtfully designed to be low maintenance whilst working in harmony with the unique attributes of Canungra. Each home will be equipped with water tank storage and solar panels, enabling residents to live more sustainably and lower their everyday energy costs,” Mr Walker continued. To help Thyme Canungra realise its full potential, the lifestyle resort will feature a luxurious Clubhouse which will include a resort-style swimming pool, cinema, gym, sports bar, pickleball court, multiple dining areas and more facilities yet to be announced.
“I look forward to welcoming our first homeowners to Thyme Canungra in early 2025 where they will discover a welcoming community where they can share, create and enjoy special moments together,” adds Mr. Walker.
